Here's How to Calibrate the Android Battery Correctly!

How to Calibrate the Android Battery
The battery is the main component in a mobile device, both smartphone and notebook.

Batteries used on mobile devices such as Android are rechargeable batteries.

However, each battery certainly has a variety of life, especially if the device is used excessively, then the useful life will quickly decrease.

When you just buy an Android phone, the battery status can be read accurately by the system.

But over time, the system may have problems when reading the capacity and status of the battery accurately. This is why you have to calibrate the battery.

You already know what a battery is? Yes, a battery is a hardware device that can save power so that devices like Android, notebooks, etc. can carry out their functions.

Batteries have various capacities, and we cannot see directly the capacity of these batteries.

The operating system requires some kind of software or driver to read the capacity and status of the battery in real-time, so that we can find out what level of percentage of the remaining battery of our smartphone now.

Software is not always accurate in displaying the percentage of the battery, especially if it is aged. It is not impossible the rest of your phone battery at this time is 80%, but on the phone screen show only 50%. Or maybe it could be the opposite.

This is why battery calibration is needed, which is to normalize software or driver errors in reading the battery status.

So it can be concluded that battery calibration is the process of battery normalization so that its capacity and status can be read by the system accurately.

Based on the explanation above, battery calibration aims to make the system be able to read and display the capacity and status of the actual percentage of the battery accurately.

1. The battery runs out quickly

If you feel your battery quickly than usual, maybe you should do a battery calibration. Karena mungkin saja ada kesalahan pada sistem saat membaca status baterai.

But by calibrating the battery does not mean that it can save battery consumption, it could be caused by the age factor of the battery.

Because the longer the battery capacity decreases, depending on how the battery is used.

2. The battery percentage is reduced unnaturally

If your phone has an unnaturally reduced battery, maybe you should try to calibrate the battery.

For example the percentage of battery is reduced from 78% directly to 76%. This means that something is unnatural and needs to be calibrated.

3. The charging process cannot be up to 100%

Have you ever experienced when charging your phone does not reach 100%? Even though you have been charging for hours.

If you have, maybe you should also try to calibrate your android battery.

You already know what battery calibration is, you also already know what the purpose and the reason for having to do battery calibration. so when is the right time to calibrate the battery?

Calibrate your phone battery when you feel that your phone's battery faster than otherwise, or when your cell phone battery percentage reduction in unnatural as we have said before.

The battery calibration trick that I shared is different from other tutorials, this tutorial I got from one of the members of the Whyred Telegram Group.

Tutorial on how to calibrate this battery with Terminal Emulator only.

One of the main requirements in this tutorial is that your smartphone must be rooted, for non-rooted phones that cannot use this method.

Here are the requirements that must be met before starting the battery calibration.

Requirements before calibrating an android battery

  • Terminal Emulator (Download on PlayStore)
  • Download Batcal.sh here
  • Smartphone must be Rooted
  • Smartphone battery must be 100%

An easy way to calibrate the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro battery

  • Download batcal.sh via the link above, then save it on internal storage. Store it outside, not in the folder!
  • charge your device to 100%, after 100% don't unplug the charger, leave it plugged in.
  • Open Terminal Emulator
    • type su than enter
    • type cd sdcard than enter
    • type sh batcal.sh than enter
    • then will appear a few options:
      (c) for battery calibration
      (x) to exit
      (a) to automatically
      just select c, then enter
  • After completing the question will appear to reboot, just answer yes
  • Let the phone reboot while the charger is still plugged in
  • Done

Note:
  • After this do not get used to restart the smartphone with the charger still plugged in, because it can cause errors in reading the battery memory history. If you want to restart, please unplug the charger first.
  • This battery calibration is for accuracy in battery percentage reading, not for battery saving.

Note:
In this guide to how to calibrate the battery, I practice it on Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro (whyred) which has been rooted. For other types of Android battery calibration like Asus, Samsung, Realme, etc. I have never practiced it.

That's a powerful way to calibrate an android battery and I have tried it myself and it works. Hopefully this article is also a solution for those of you who want to calibrate your phone battery.
